Report as inappropriate. Typical read; I kept thinking I had read it before, but it is the same formula as the others. It kept me engaged and didn't get upset by lousy characters and poor writing because the characters were good and the writing was okay. As always. I enjoyed Fast Track, it was a very fast read, and enjoyable, fun read.

It visited old characters, which I enjoy, as I really fell in love with Alec and Reagan, in Heartbreaker. I think if you enjoyed the previous books, in this really, you will surely enjoy this one. This book was given mixed reviews but it suited the characters well. Loved it. The story is engaging, suspending and exciting. I've been a fan of Julie Garwood's books for years, but I was hesitant to download this one because of all the negative reviews. In the end, I decided that I wouldn't pay full price for it, but if I ever caught it at a "bargain basement" rate, I'd give it a shot. One day, the bargain rate appeared, so I bought it and started reading, though I honestly didn't have high expectations.

I wound up being somewhat surprised because it really wasn't that bad. That being said, it isn't Ms. Garwood's best work. In my opinion, her best books are her historical novels based on her work that I've read so far, of course. I really don't get all the griping about Aiden.

I liked him. No, we aren't given tremendous insights into his character, but we do learn enough to know what kind of person he is and why he's such a workaholic. There were plenty of interactions between him and Cordie. I think maybe some readers were expecting more development there, which is understandable.

I thought there were too many secondary characters that really didn't serve any purpose in the book. Leaving some of those out or perhaps just mentioning them peripherally might have helped to improve the amount of focus on Aiden and Cordie.

If you generally like Julie Garwood, you'll probably find this one to be at least okay. I don't think it's worth full price, so I'd try to hold out for a cheaper rate. I recently had given up Julie Garwood because I felt she lost her magic Imagine my delight when I receive notification that Ms.

Garwood was releasing their story. I pre-ordered the book and anxiously awaited it's arrival with high hopes The story starts out well The we fast forward to the present where Cordie finds out on her father's deathbed that her mother is actually not dead.

I thought to myself, ok I am getting a glimpse of the old Garwood magic. However, from this point forward the book veered off track. Was this novel supposed to be a romantic suspense? Or Chick Lit? I'm not really sure since there was very little romance and it was definitely not suspenseful.

It wasn't true chick lit. Perhaps Ms.
